MSA Compatible 200G to 4x50G AOC Cable (1-100m, QSFP-DD to 4xQSFP28, OM3/OM4)

The 200G QSFP-DD to 4x50G QSFP28 breakout AOC cable connects in 200Gbps Gigabit Ethernet lines using OM3 or OM4 cables. Each QSFP-DD port has eight 106.25Gbps transmit and receive channels, each capable of 26Gb/s PAM4 operation for an aggregate data rate of 208Gb/s.
The 200G breakout AOC cable conforms to QSFP-DD and QSFP28 MSA standards. It is compliant with IEEE 802.3bm specifications. The active optical cable features 8-channel 850nm VCSEL array in addition to 8-channel PIN photo detector array. The AOC cable enables digital diagnostics functions using the I2C management interface that CMIS V4.0 specifies. The maximum data transmission distance is 70m on OM3 and 100m on OM4. The AOC cable is ideal for telecommunication connectivity, E-commerce, and data centers.

Questions & Answers

What is the benefit of the 200G QSFP-DD to 4x50G QSFP28 breakout AOC?
The 200G active optical cable connects one 200G device to 4x50G devices, easily scaling to 50G connections in existing 200G infrastructure. Increase port density in high-density environments.

What are the 200G breakout cable main applications?
The QSFP-DD to 4x50G QSFP28 active optical cable is perfect for high-performance computing(HPC)clusters, hyperscale data cemters, artificial intelligence and machine learning workloads, and 5G/6G network deployments..

Tips for optimal cable performance
– Use high-quality OM3, OM4, or OM5 fiber.
– Use proper cable management to reduce signal interference.
– Check compatibility with your 200G and 50G equipment.
– Monitor network performance for potential issues.

Does active optical cables(AOCs) is better than direct attach copper(DAC) cables?
In some scenarios, AOCs have advantages over DACs. First, longer distance transmission, AOCs transmit longer up to 100m using fiber optics. DACs are limited to short distances due to signal attenuation in copper. Second, AOCs using fiber optic cables are immune to electromagnetic interference(EMI). However, DACs are easily affected by EMI. Third, the AOCs are smaller and lighter than DACs, which can simplify cable management and improve airflow in densely packed equipment racks.
