MSA Campatible 200G to 200G DAC Cable(1-3m, Passive, QSFP56 to QSFP56, 26AWG to 30AWG)

4x28GBaud PAM4 modulation is supported by the 200G QSFP56 to 200G QSFP56 DAC cable assemblies. Data transmission up to 3 meters is supported by the 200G direct attach cable. The QSFP56 conforms to the small form factor SFF8636. The four-channel full-duplex passive copper cable transceiver conforms to IEEE 802.3bj and IEEE 802.3cd. An EEPROM may address each QSFP56 port, providing product information that can be read or written via the I2C interface. The DAC cable is perfect for data center interconnect and storage area networks (SAN) in large enterprises.

Questions & Answers

What’s the difference between a 200G QSFP56 DAC and a 200G AOC cable?
Both the 200G DAC (Direct Attach Copper) and 200G QSFP56 AOC cables are capable of handling extremely high data speeds. The AOC, on the other hand, transmits data via fibre optics, which improves its performance across greater distances with strong electromagnetic interference. Conversely, DAC cables are less expensive for short-range connections (often up to 7 meters), but they perform worse over longer distances and may cause signal loss.

Is the 200G QSFP56 Direct Attach Cable Durable?
The cable is made of durable materials for data centre use. However, severe bending or tugging may damage copper conductors or connections.

Can the 200G Direct Attach Cable be used outdoors?
This wire is for data centers and server rooms indoors. Outside installations require a cable with extra protection.
