MSA Compatible 200G to 4x50G AOC Cable(QSFP56 to 4xSFP56, OM3/OM4/OM5)

The 200G QSFP56 to 4x50G SFP56 active optical cable adopts 4 channels full-duplex transceiver modules and supports reaching up to 100m data transmission. The cable assemblies on both ends have uncooled 850nm VCSEL array and PIN photo detector array. The AOC cable complies with IEEE 802.3cd, QSFP-MSA, 200GBASE-SR4, and 50GBASE-SR specifications. The hot pluggable cable supports One side features a 200GbE connector, while the other four sides include four separate 50GbE connectors. The cable sends each pair of data signals to the four pairs on each SFP56 multiport end via the four MMF (Multi-Mode Fiber) pairs on the single QSFP56 end. The 200G end has a typical power dissipation of less than 5 Watts and the 50G end less than 2W. The AOC splitter cable has a single 3.3V power supply, an operating temperature range of 0 to +70ºC, and built-in diagnostic features. The transceiver is RoHS 2.0 compliant. The active optical cable uses digital diagnostic features via the I2C management interface by CMIS V4.0 specified. The breakout AOC cable is ideal for AI training enterprise networks.

Questions & Answers

1. What are the main benefits of this 200G QSFP56 to 4×53 SFP56 AOC?
The AOC supports 200G data transmission up to 100m on MMF cables. The cable splits a 200G link into 4x53G connections that are space-saving and energy-efficient.

Where can I use the 200G QSFP56 to 4x53G AOC?
The 200G QSFP56 to 4x53G active optical cable is suitable for connecting servers, storage and switches in data centers.

How far can it transmit data?
This 200G QSFP56 to 4x53G SFP56 active optical cable provides up to 100 meters with OM4 multimode fiber.

Does active optical cables(AOCs) is better than direct attach copper(DAC) cables?
In some scenarios, AOCs have advantages over DACs. First, longer distance transmission, AOCs transmit longer up to 100m using fiber optics. DACs are limited to short distances due to signal attenuation in copper. Second, AOCs using fiber optic cables are immune to electromagnetic interference(EMI). However, DACs are easily affected by EMI. Third, the AOCs are smaller and lighter than DACs, which can simplify cable management and improve airflow in densely packed equipment racks.
