MSA Compatible 400G to 8x 53G AOC Cable(1-100m, QSFP-DD to SFP56, OM3/OM4)

The 400G to 8x53G AOC cable is perfect for connecting host adapters, switches, and servers in 8x53G Gigabit Ethernet lines using OM3 or OM4 cables. Eight distinct 53G SFP56 multiport ends are connected to a single 400G QSFP56-DD connection via the high-speed data rate. The 400G breakout active optical cable conforms to SFF-8431 and QSFP-DD MSA standards. The cable features an 8-channel 850nm VCSEL array in addition to an 8-channel PIN photo detector array. The AOC cable enables digital diagnostics functions using the I2C management interface that CMIS V4.0 specifies. The maximum data transmission distance supported by the QSFP56-DD 400G to 8x53G QSFP56 is 70m on OM3 and 100m on OM4. The 400G QSFP-DD to 8x53G SFP56 breakout cable is perfect for server-to-server communications, financial data centers, and CDNs.

Questions & Answers

What is a 400G QSFP-DD to 8xSFP56 Active Optical Cable (AOC)?
A 400G QSFP-DD to 8xSFP56 AOC is a high-density breakout cable that converts one 400G QSFP-DD port into eight 50G SFP56 ports.

What are the applications of this cable?
This cable is particularly intended for high-density server communication in contemporary data centers.
  • Edge computing implementations require several 50G connections.
  • Network disaggregation using 50G endpoints
  • Integrate legacy systems with modern 400G infrastructure.
  • Offer affordable 50G connectivity options.
What are the standard lengths?
Supported lengths generally vary from 1m to 30m, 31m to 50m, and 51m to 100m.
Custom lengths may be provided depending on the individual requirements.

What is the power consumption profile?
The maximum power consumption on the QSFP56-DD end is less than 10W, whereas the SFP56 end is less than 2W.
