MSA Compatible 400G to 4x100G ACC Cable (1-100m, QSFP-DD to 4xQSFP56, OM3/OM4/OM5)

The 400G to 4x100G active optical cable used in 4x100G Gigabit Ethernet links over OM3 / OM4 /OM5 cables. The high-speed data rate connects from one 400G QSFP56-DD connector to four separate 100G QSFP56 multiport ends. The QSFP-DD end’s 8 multi-mode fiber pairs, each pair data signal connected to the dual pairs of each QSFP56 multiport. The 400G breakout cable complies with QSFP-DD MSA and 100GBASE-SR2 specifications. The Maximum power consumption is less than 9 Watts on the 400G end and less than 4.5W on the 100G end. Via the I2C management interface specified by CMIS V4.0, the AOC cable supports digital diagnostics functions. The QSFP56-DD 400g to 4x 100G QSFP56 support max. data transmission distance up to 70m on OM3, and 100m on OM4/OM5.

Questions & Answers

What is the 400G QSFP-DD to 4xQSFP56 Active Optical Cable (AOC)?
A 400G QSFP-DD to 4xQSFP56 active optical cable is a high-performance breakout cable that converts one 400G QSFP-DD port into four 100G QSFP56 ports.

What are the key use cases for this breakout active optical cable?
This cable is suited for data center fabric connectivity with fan-out designs.
  • Migration paths from 100G to 400G infrastructure.
  • High-density server connections for cloud computing clusters
  • Network disaggregation in contemporary data centers.
  • Scale-out designs require multiple 100G endpoints.
What are the supported lengths?
Standard length options typically range from 1m to 100m. Custom lengths may be available upon request. Signal integrity is maintained across all supported lengths through active signal conditioning.
What is the power consumption specification?
The maximum power consumption on the 400G end is 9W and on the 100G end is 4.5W.

What are the operational specifications?
  • Operating temperatures range from 0°C to 70°C (32°F to 158°F).
  • Storage temperature range: -20°C to 85°C (-4°F to 185°F).
  • Humidity: 5% to 95% relative humidity, without condensing.
What management and monitoring features are available?
This active optical cable enables Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM).
  • Monitoring the link status for each channel
  • Temperature and power monitoring – Individual channel disablement option
  • Detect and report errors.
  • Comply with CMIS 4.0 for advanced management.
