MSA Compatible 800G(8×106.25G) OSFP PAM4 to 800G(8×106.25G) AOC Cable

The 800G (8×106.25G) OSFP PAM4 to 800G (8×106.25G) OSFP PAM4 active optical cable is designed for 800 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and supports reaching up to 7m data transmission. The AOC cable adopts the standard OSFP form factor and complies with MSA specifications. The hot pluggable cable supports 800Gbps data transmission per cable. The typical power dissipation on each end is 14 Watts, a single 3.3V power supply, an operating case temperature range of 0 to +70ºC, and built-in digital diagnostic features. 800G AOC cables operate over multimode fiber systems with a wavelength of 850nm and support FEC( Forward Error Correction) functions. The AOC cable is ideal for ethernet, telecom, and data center applications.

Questions & Answers

What is an 800G OSFP Active Optical Cable?
An 800G OSFP to OSFP Active Optical Cable (AOC) has OSFP ports on both sides. Using 8 lanes of 100G PAM4 signalling, it can handle 800 Gigabit Ethernet workloads.

Which usual uses exist for 800G OSFP AOC?
  • The main applications for the cable are in high-performance computing (HPC) facilities.
  • Large-scale data centers
  • Clusters of AI/ML computing
  • Infrastructure for cloud computing
  • Fast network routers and switches
  • The need for extremely high bandwidth in enterprise data centers

What temperature range does it operate in?
800G OSFP AOCs typically operate in the 0°C to 70°C (32°F to 158°F) temperature range, making them appropriate for common data center settings.

Is it possible to replace out the 800G OSFP AOC?
Indeed, the cable is hot-pluggable, which reduces network downtime during maintenance or upgrades by enabling installation and removal while the system is switched on.
