MSA Compatible 40G QSFP+ ZR4 Optical Transceiver Module (SMF LAN WDM, 80km, Duplex LC)
MSA Compatible 40G QSFP+ ZR4 Optical Transceiver Module (SMF LAN WDM, 80km, Duplex LC)
The QSFP+ 40GBASE ZR4 transceiver module supports 4x 10.3125G data transmission of 80km over SMF. The 40G ER4 optical module complies with QSFP MSA and RoHS standards. The module uses CWDM technology to achieve 4 channels of electrical data into 4 channels of LAN WDM optical signals. Moreover, multiplexing these optical signals into a single channel for 40Gb/s optical transmission. the module de-multiplexes a 40Gb/s optical input into 4 channels of LAN WDM optical signals and then converts them to 4 output channels of electrical data. The lower power consumption is 4.5W and is RoHS-compliant. This module is ideal for 40-gigabit ethernet, data center, and metro network applications.

Questions & Answers
How far can a 40G QSFP+ ZR4 module reach?
These modules can send data up to 80km over standard single-mode fiber. That’s twice the distance of an ER4 module! This makes them perfect for connecting data centers in different cities.
Why is the ZR4 more expensive than other 40G modules?
The higher price comes from its advanced technology. It uses special optics and components to reach longer distances (80km) while maintaining signal quality. Think of it like a high-end camera lens – better quality but more expensive.
Will a ZR4 module work with my existing network?
The ZR4 optical modules comply with QSFP+ MSA, please make sure that:
– Your switch/router must support 40G QSFP+
– The device temperature range should match your needs
– Both ends of the link need compatible modules
