48-port 25Gb SFP28 L3 Aggregation Switch, 6x100Gb QSFP28 Uplinks, Enterprise SONiC NOS, Marvell Falcon
Asterfusion CX306P-48Y-M-H is a 48-port 25G core/spine switch with 6 ports 100G QSFP28 uplinks, suited for campus core network, enterprise, and cloud service provider network deployments. It is powered by a Marvell Falcon chip in a compact 1RU form factor. Moreover, 48-port 25G aggregation switches come with Enterprise SONiC installed and is ideal for enterprise fabric.
With a combination of 10/25 Gbps and 40/100 Gbps interfaces, the Asterfusion CX306P-48Y-M-H smart switch platform uses Marvell Falcon switch ASIC and an optional OCTEON CN103 DPU. It is designed for use in O-RAN networks, mobile fronthaul, backhaul, and enterprise spine/gateway applications. By enabling a wide range of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching functionalities, it makes efficient data forwarding, routing, and network management possible.
The CX306P-48Y-M-H also has 1PPS + ToD (Time of Day) Precision Time Protocol (PTP) features, providing high-accuracy time synchronization for time-sensitive applications. The robust hardware architecture and flexible software capabilities of the CX306P-48Y-M-H are very advantageous for enterprise networks and telecommunications infrastructure.
Application Scenarios
O-RAN Fronthaul Transport: Asterfusion CX306P-48Y-M-H is a high-performance, versatile network fronthaul device designed to flexibly expand coverage and maximize DU resources as service providers improve services. It supports 1588v2 and SyncE high-precision clock synchronization protocols, providing 20ns time accuracy with various clock interfaces such as 1PPS, ToD, 10MHz, and GNSS receiver for LLC-C2 and C3 configurations.

LLS-C2

LLS-C3
Single device as O-DU: As there are 2 optional DPUs, it is also possible to migrate applications from standard x86 servers to ARM-based DPUs, which minimizes the O-DU into a single box.

System Architecture
Two optional Marvell OCTEON CN103 data processing units (DPU), which provide 8-core ARM V9 processing capacity, are included inside the CX306P-48Y-M-H hardware. It may be used to install any standard Linux kernel-based application for a range of use cases, as well as to operate an AsterNOS router or packet broker software.
