100GBASE LR4 QSFP28 Transceiver Module (1310nm, 10km, DOM Duplex LC, SMF)

The 100GBASE-LR4 QSFP28 receiver is designed for 100G Ethernet applications that require data transmission up to 10 km over single-mode fiber (SMF). This optical module is compatible with a wide range of infrastructure because it meets the QSFP28 MSA and IEEE standards, including 802.3ba for 100GBASE-LR4 and 802.3bm for CAUI-4. This transceiver converts four channels of 25.78125Gb/s power input into four channels of optical LAN-WDM signals, proving its capacity for high-speed data processing. These data are then concatenated to generate a single 103.125Gb/s optical output, allowing for faster and more efficient transmission. This maintains data integrity while speeding up the transfer process. The I2C interface supports digital diagnostics and monitoring, allowing you to control and repair equipment in real time.

FAQ

Can SMF connect SFP-25G-LR with QSFP-100G-LR4?
QSFP-100G-LR4 and an SFP-25G-LR can be connected using SMF if they support different data speeds and formats. Media converters or suitable switches may link 25G and 100G connections.

Does QSFP-100G-LR4 SMF support 25G connections?
The QSFP-100G-LR4-S cannot demultiplex to 25Gbps segments without network equipment. It supports 100G networks.

Does QSFP-100G-LR4 SMF support QSFP+ ports?
Though comparable in size, QSFP28 100G modules have better bandwidth and cannot be used in previous QSFP+ ports due to electrical and protocol difficulties. Check your equipment’s port requirements for compatibility.

Is it possible to connect CFP 100G-LR4 and QSFP28 100G-LR4 modules?
Dual-form factor adapters or network switches are needed to connect CFP 100G-LR4 and QSFP28 modules. Different connectors and electrical interfaces restrict direct connectivity without matching gear.

How do I physically identify QSFP28 from QSFP? Different modules’ firmware?
QSFP28 modules look like QSFP modules but are labeled or documented. QSFP28 and QSFP modules support 100Gbps and 40Gbps networks, respectively. Bandwidth and protocols affect firmware and internal settings. See module specs.
