Questions & Answers
What is an Optical Transceiver Module?
An optical transceiver module is a device connected between the electronic equipment and the fiber optic network. The optical transceiver work principle is, first, light transmission, electrical signals that are converted to light via a laser diode. Second, light reception, light signals are received and converted back to electrical signals by a photodiode.
What are the key advantages of 800G optical transceiver modules?
- 800G transceiver modules can send data at speeds of up to 800 Gigabit Ethernet, which makes it perfect for cloud computing, AI, and high-frequency trading.
- OSFP (Octal Small Form Factor Pluggable) 800G modules are built in a way that makes it possible to fit more links into a smaller area. They work great for data centers that don’t have a lot of space.
- Support a big rise in network capacity to keep up with the growing demand for data.
- 800G transceivers meet the needs of the data world.
What are common types of 800G optical transceivers?
- OSFP (Octal Small Form Factor Pluggable) transceiver modules are designed for long-distance data transmission over metropolitan and wide-area networks.
- QSFP-DD (Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable Double Density) transceiver modules are designed for connecting different parts of a campus or large building.
