400GBASE DR4 QSFP DD Transceiver Module (1310nm, 500m, MPO-APC, SMF)
400GBASE DR4 QSFP DD Transceiver Module (1310nm, 500m, MPO-APC, SMF)
The QSFP-DD DR4 400G EML Transceiver can transfer a 425 Gigabit signal over four parallel lanes, each transmitting one wavelength. This optical module is suitable for optical communication across 500 meters. The 400G DR4 transceiver meets the specifications of the QSFP-DD MSA, the IEEE 802.3bs 400GBASE-DR4 protocol, and the 400GAUI-8 standard. It converts eight 53.125 Gbit/s electrical data channels into four parallel channels of 106.25 Gbit/s optical signals. The reverse operation converts four channels of optical information at 106.25 Gbit/s into eight channels of electrical data. This QSFPDD 400G DR4 meets all of the networking requirements of a data center. It may be accessed via a two-wire serial interface and provides a versatile method for controlling and improving data flow in data center networks. It is ideal for high-performance computing (HPC) clusters, data centers, and network expansion.

FAQ
What is the means of 400G-DR4?
400 Gigabit Ethernet sends and receives data at 400G. DR4 is a means of Direct Attach with four 100 Gbps data lines for 400 Gbps.
How does the transceiver use SMF to attain 400G speeds?
This transceiver features four SMF-compatible 1310nm data channels. This wavelength is better for long-distance transmissions than MMF.
What are the differences between QSFP-DD and QSFP+?
QSFP-DD, short for “Double Density,” is the next-generation form factor for 400 Gigabit Ethernet. Despite being similar in size to QSFP+, they can’t be swapped due to electrical connectors and density.
Why use MPO-APC connectors?
The transceiver uses an MPO-12 connection with APC polish. MPO connectors are for multi-mode fiber and multiple channels. APC polish has stronger light coupling and reduced signal loss than UPC polish, which is important for longer SMF distances.
What are the maximum transmit distance limits?
This 400G-DR4 transceiver can reach 500 meters, but SMF can handle longer lengths depending on fiber optic cable quality and signal strength.
